Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

This program offers training in all phases of repair and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The program also prepares the student for the required EPA Certification in the management of refrigerants. While the program is grounded in theory, all courses are largely taught through hands-on experience in fully functional labs – ranging from residential to light commercial to industrial equipment and applications. 

As with all programs at ICT/ILS, this program includes an externship. An Externship is a program component that assigns a student to a partnering company for 135 hours, giving the student the opportunity to put his/her new skills to use and gain real-life experience. ICT/ILS is one of the few schools that offer this as part of a student’s training in every program of study.

Excellent employment opportunities exist for entry-level positions as a HVAC/R technician or maintenance technician. This is a field in which well-qualified technicians will always be in demand.
